Eating your customer’s complexity—Directions

To increase monetization–eat your customer's complexity.

All success lies in simplicity. In this vein, Sam Ovens penned one of my favourite mantras for creating increased monetization. Eat your customer's complexity.

For sure, Amazon aligns with this model–but many businesses struggle to break through the complexity fog.

A simple way to get your monetization going is to view three axes

  1. medium

  2. packaging

  3. use

In this map vertical scenario, the medium shifted from paper-based to digital. The packaging went from hardware to software.

And use went from mostly vehicular to any and everyday directional use.

Eating customers-directions-complexity meant a change in medium, integration with existing hardware [phone] serials, and broader use.
